Hills Sound Vision and Lighting acquires Herma Technologies

Australia and New Zealand’s leading AV distributor, Hills SVL has announced today that it has acquired Herma Technologies. Herma Technologies is a Melbourne based AV distribution company with a significant market share of the residential and commercial projection screen markets through its LP Morgan, Grandview and 2C brands. Herma also distributes SunBrite Outdoor LCD screens, Brightline video conferencing lighting solutions and Panamorph lenses.

Group General Manager of the Hills SVL Group, Stuart Craig, announced the acquisition today “On the back of our recent expansion with the Denon and Marantz Group, this is another significant expansion for Hills SVL. The Herma acquisition makes sense in many ways. It’s another step toward SVL offering an end to end solution for our customers and allowing us to take our ‘intuitive integrated solutions’ program to a whole new level. It also helps the SVL Group establish some new channels in the residential and IT markets which are key to our on-going growth. For Herma it’s an expansion opportunity as it becomes part of a much larger team and will leverage SVL’s strengths in the commercial and education markets. Customers of both SVL and Herma will see immediate benefits. Herma will keep its identity and will not be merged into Hills SVL, it will operate as a division of Hills SVL just as Crestron and Australian Monitor operates.”

Hills SVL to Distribute Leading Audio Brands – Denon Pro, Denon DJ and Marantz Pro in Australia

From February 2012, the nationwide audio, lighting and AV specialists will welcome three of the finest names in global audio innovation: Denon Pro, Denon DJ and Marantz Pro.

Through an agreement with their international parent company, D&M Holdings, Hills SVL will become the exclusive Australian distributor of some of the world’s leading digital audio playback and recording equipment manufactured under the Denon Pro, Marantz Pro and Denon DJ brands.

The deal is another coup for the ever-expanding SVL Group, which already distributes some of the world’s favourite audio names, including Lab.gruppen, Rane, Renkus-Heinz, Crestron, Australian Monitor and Turbosound.

Turbosound Mi0 – Self-Powered 10”/1” Full Range Speaker

The Turbosound Mi0 (pronounced ‘me-oh’) is the latest addition to the Milan family of self-powered speakers. Designed for a wide range of portable live sound applications, the Mi0 is compact, lightweight with Turbosound’s usual high level of performance.

The Mi0 features a 10” LF driver powered by a 180w Class-D amplifier and 1” HF driver powered by a 50w Class AB amplifier. Weighing just 12kg, the Milan Mi0 is suitable for hire companies, schools, small bands and duo’s. The amplifier module includes an XLR mic input, a combo XLR/Jack line input, overall bass and treble controls, plus a Mix output for linking to additional units.
